One design feature that is widely accepted as a good thing is a very heavy platter with very good bearings. This keeps the turntable moving at a constant speed as it is less susceptible to speed variations. A good weight bearing method (bearings) with low friction and noise help to keep the entire rotating mass smooth and quiet.

The turntable has several basic components including the plinth (base), the revolving platter, the tone arm, the cartridge and stylus, and the mechanical and electronic components to make it all work.

[66
124,123,131,128,121,130,129,127,125,126,122,119,115,120
post-179","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-turntables","tag-33-13-rpm","tag-base","tag-bearings","tag-belt","tag-cartridge","tag-direct","tag-drive","tag-idler","tag-perfect-signal","tag-platter","tag-plinth","tag-revolving-platter","tag-stylus","tag-tone-arm","wp-sticky
["GET
